This is my first EVER Naked palette and I am so obsessed. I was so over the moon when I found out Urban decay were doing a pre-release of the Naked Heat palette. The past few Naked palettes have been too ashy for my liking and compliment lighter skin tones better so I'm really pleased Urban Decay have released something that will suit us darker skinned gals & guys!

The packaging is so pretty. My palette came in this huge purple magnetic box, some people received there's in a regular white box- I dunno what happened, maybe they ran out of purple boxes? I love the matchbox style slide-y box it comes in- this is my first Naked palette so I don't know if this is 'normal' but I think it's a cute play off on the whole heat/fire inspiration.

The actual palette itself is plastic with a magnetic closure- super easy to open if you've had your nails done etc. The lid of the palette is SO pretty, it's like a little holographic sunset. Really cute!

I love every single shade & the warm toned shades work well with my dark skin tone. There's a good balance of matte & shimmery shades, some really pretty transition shades as well. I love that the formula isn't chalky like other brands, it's more buttery and silky which makes them so so easy to blend.

Generally eye shadow palette brushes are awful and I end up throwing the brushes or those sponge applicators out or give them to my little sister. The double ended brush that comes in the palette is absolutely amazing; both ends are soft & the fibres are quite densely packed and not flimsy at all. My fave side to the brush is the long/tapered side, it's great for really packing colour into the crease.

I can really see my self getting a lot of use out of my Naked Heat palette. Every single shade is super pigmented and wearable. Really easy to transition from day to night looks which is useful if you're traveling and need to pack light. I'm always worried about my makeup shattering when travelling so don't know if I'd risk taking this beauty out with me!

The only negative is that I wish there was a shimmery, burnt gold shade. I wouldn't mind if Urban Decay got rid of lumber & replaced it with a burnt gold shade. Here's to wishful thinking!

Something else I think definitely is worth mentioning as I've seen a lot of You-Tubers complaining; As with most eye palettes these days, there is similar palettes out there but if you like Urban Decay and love the formula of their products then don't the haters put you off!
